About Heme Labs

Heme Labs was built in the trenches, not in a boardroom.

After 14 years as a registered nurse, including the last 3 years working exclusively with sickle cell patients, one thing became clear: knowledge is one of the most powerful tools a person living with sickle cell disease can have.

Every day, patients asked questions. Good questions. Important questions. Questions that deserved clear, honest, and accessible answers. And yet, so much of the information out there was buried in medical jargon, scattered across research papers, or simply hard to find.

That gap is why Heme Labs exists.

Our mission is simple: to provide free, easy to understand education for young people living with sickle cell disease. Because when you understand your body, you can advocate for yourself, make informed decisions, and take real control of your health.

We also believe the sickle cell community is one of the strongest communities there is. The resilience, the connection, the desire to show up for each other. That energy deserves to be celebrated. That's why we created merch for warriors who want to represent and wear their strength proudly.
