Whether you just found us through a search, a friend shared this with you, or you stumbled across us on Instagram, welcome. This is a space that was built specifically for you.

After 14 years as a registered nurse, including 3 years working exclusively with sickle cell patients, I noticed something that I could not ignore. The patients who understood their disease were the ones who thrived. They asked better questions at their doctor appointments. They recognized their symptoms earlier. They advocated for themselves in ways that made a real difference in their health outcomes.

But so much of the information out there is buried in medical textbooks, written in confusing language, or simply hard to find. That is not fair. And it needed to change.

So I built Heme Labs.

What is Heme Labs?

Heme Labs is a free education hub built specifically for young people living with sickle cell disease. Our mission is simple: to give you access to clear, honest, and easy to understand information about your body, your diagnosis, and your health.

No jargon. No confusion. No cost.

Just knowledge that empowers you to live your healthiest life.

Right now you can explore our Learn section, where we break down the basics of sickle cell disease in plain language. Topics include what sickle cell disease is, the different types of sickle cell disease, and much more to come.

More than just education

We also believe the sickle cell community is one of the strongest communities in the world. The resilience, the fight, the love for each other. It is something special.
